Our Schools
At the Licensed Trade Charity, we have been educating the children of licensed trade families for over 220 years and continue to offer an outstanding independent education to the children of those working in the licensed hospitality sector.
Our schools, LVS Ascot, a day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 4-18, and LVS Hassocks and LVS Oxford, our specialist schools for young people with a diagnosis of autism, offer academic and vocational pathways that support students to reach their potential in an inspiring, aspirational and collaborative environment.

Life-changing scholarships and bursaries
We offer life-changing scholarships and bursaries for LVS Ascot to those working in the licensed hospitality sector. We can help with school fees and other costs depending on eligibility.
20% Discount
A 20% discount on school fees at LVS Ascot is available to those who work, or have worked, within the licensed hospitality sector.
This means you as a parent or legal guardian need to be either currently, or have in the past, working in the licensed drinks trade* for a total of five consecutive years. However this can be in one or more jobs — either selling, serving, manufacturing or distributing alcohol. We request proof of that working history during the application process. Our team will guide you through the process. We can also advise as to whether discounts, scholarships and bursaries can be combined.
To apply for the above, an application must be made to register your child through our Admissions team.

Scholarships
The Licensed Trade Charity offers day-place scholarships to LVS Ascot for entry into all years from Yr 3 onwards. Scholarships are discretionary and typically cover up to 50% of day-place fees, but in exceptional cases up to 80%. Combined with our 20% discount for the licensed hospitality sector, this can meet the full cost of day fees for LVS Ascot.
Our scholarships cover a percentage of teaching fees, meals, curriculum books and exam entrance charges. Applications are invited from parents (or legal guardians) of children who are highly able across the academic, creative and sporting curriculum. The scholarships are not subject specific. A parent or guardian must meet our employment criteria. Our Admissions team will arrange an assessment that will enable us to understand the child’s abilities or talents. The percentage of scholarship awarded will then reflect the child’s ability in their particular field.

Bursaries
The Licensed Trade Charity offers bursaries of up to 100% off day fees (Yr 3 onwards) and boarding fees (Yr 6 onwards), as well as subsidies towards uniforms, school trips and school materials. There are means-tested bursaries available where a parent or guardian meets our employment criteria. They are offered to children who would benefit from being educated at LVS Ascot due to family, educational or other reasons.
